Blackcurrant 'Little Black Giant'
Blackcurrant 'Little Black Giant' is a compact, bushy blackcurrant producing remarkably large fruits on a plant that reaches only around 80cm in height. Its naturally smaller habit makes it particularly well suited to smaller gardens, fruit beds and patio containers.
The impressive black fruits can reach up to 20mm across and ripen early, typically during the second half of June. Exceptionally juicy and sweet, they have a pleasantly mild flavour with very little of the strong cassis taste traditionally associated with blackcurrants, making them excellent for eating fresh from the plant.
'Little Black Giant' is a hardy, deciduous fruiting shrub that performs well in full sun or partial shade. Part of the Cassissima range, it combines a manageable size with an abundant crop of unusually large berries, making it an excellent choice where growing space is limited.
