Aster × frikartii 'Mönch'
Aster 'Mönch' is a bushy, upright perennial producing masses of lavender-blue, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centres. Flowering from midsummer into autumn, it brings a long-lasting display of soft colour and a light, airy feel to sunny borders.
The flowers are carried above neat, dark green foliage and work beautifully in mixed perennial borders, cottage gardens and naturalistic planting schemes. Their nectar-rich centres are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, providing a valuable late-season food source.
Easy to grow and reliable, 'Mönch' performs best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Its long flowering period, good garden performance and attractive habit have earned it the RHS Award of Garden Merit, making it an excellent choice for dependable late-summer colour.
