Aster novi-belgii 'Sarah Ballard'
Aster novi-belgii 'Sarah Ballard' is a reliable late-flowering perennial producing masses of soft lavender-pink, daisy-like flowers with contrasting golden-yellow centres. The blooms are carried freely on upright stems, creating a colourful display as summer begins to give way to autumn.
Flowering from late summer into autumn, 'Sarah Ballard' is particularly valuable for extending seasonal colour in mixed and herbaceous borders. Its nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects at a time when fewer plants are in bloom.
Ideal for cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly planting and sunny perennial borders, this traditional Michaelmas Daisy grows best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Its long flowering stems are also excellent for cutting and using in seasonal flower arrangements.
