Anthurium 'King of Spades' x Forgetii x Goliath
is one of the most sought-after velvet Anthuriums, prized for its large, heart-shaped leaves that mature into deep green to almost black tones with a luxurious velvety finish. The prominent pale veins create a striking contrast against the dark foliage, giving the plant an elegant and regal appearance worthy of its name.
As it matures, each new leaf emerges with bronze or reddish hues before hardening off into rich, dark velvet. With proper care, leaves can become impressively large, making this a true statement plant for collectors and Anthurium enthusiasts.

Anthurium Care Sheet
Light: Bright light, but no direct sun. Hot, direct sunlight can cause scorch marks on the leaves that look like dry, brown patches. Ideally kept in temperatures above 15°C and away from cold draughts.
Water: Water thoroughly to ensure that all the roots are watered, and allow excess to run off. Wait till the top couple inches of potting mix is dry before watering again. Water less often in autumn and winter, but don't allow potting medium to dry out. Yellow leaves indicate over-watering.
Soil/Nutrition: Coarse, well-draining houseplant or orchid potting mix, feed monthly in spring and summer.
Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Place with other plants, or use a pebble tray to replicate the humid rainforest environment. Do not mist leaves, as this can cause brown marks.
Pruning and propagation: Remove old, faded leaves and flowers, and keep leaves dust free. Can be propagated by either stem cuttings or by splitting the plant in spring.
