Anemanthele lessoniana, formerly known as Stipa arundinacea, is a striking ornamental grass valued for its constantly changing foliage colour. Forming soft, arching clumps, the leaves shift through shades of green, orange, yellow and red, creating movement and warmth as they sway in even the lightest breeze.
Ideal for prairie-style planting and mixed borders, this grass brings texture and year-round interest to a wide range of garden styles. Delicate pink flower heads appear from June to September, rising lightly above the foliage. Easy to grow and low maintenance, it is semi-evergreen and performs reliably in UK gardens. An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder.
