Akebia quinata
Akebia quinata or Chocolate Vine is a vigorous, semi-evergreen climbing shrub with chocolate scented flowers and attractive foliage. Producing unusually shaped purple-brown flowers in spring, and if cross-pollinated are followed by large, long fruit hanging from the stems. Its five-lobed, glossy green leaves remain semi-evergreen in mild winters, providing year-round coverage. Ideal for covering fences, pergolas or trellises in sheltered, sunny or partially shaded positions.
