Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow'
Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' is a colourful evergreen perennial forming a low carpet of variegated foliage. Its leaves combine silvery green and creamy white with rose-pink and wine-red tones, bringing contrast to planting schemes throughout the year. Richer bronze shades develop in autumn and winter.
In late spring and early summer, short spikes of deep blue flowers rise above the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. Its creeping stems gradually knit together to create useful ground cover, helping to suppress weeds beneath shrubs and at the front of borders.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Burgundy Glow' is ideal for shaded borders, banks, moist rockeries and patio containers. Grow in partial shade with moist but well-drained soil, where the variegated leaves are protected from strong sunshine. Trim back spreading runners when needed to keep the planting tidy.
