Adenium obesum 'Baobab'
Adenium obesum 'Baobab' is a striking succulent shrub with a swollen caudex base and glossy green leaves that give it a miniature tree-like appearance. Known as the Desert Rose, this form resembles a miniature baobab tree and produces vibrant trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of pink, red, or white during the summer months, creating a stunning contrast against its sculptural form.
This slow-growing plant thrives in bright, sunny positions and makes an ideal specimen for windowsills, conservatories, or as a bonsai-style feature. Its unusual habit and long-lasting blooms bring both drama and character to any indoor or patio display.

Light: Needs full sun and as much direct light as possible to thrive and flower well.
Water: Water thoroughly in spring and summer when soil is dry, but avoid overwatering. Keep almost completely dry in winter when dormant.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a very free-draining cactus or succulent mix. Feed monthly in the growing season with a high-potassium fertiliser to encourage flowering.
Humidity: Prefers dry conditions – do not mist. Ideal for hot, dry indoor environments.
Pruning & Propagation: Prune in spring to shape and encourage branching. Can be propagated from cuttings or seeds. Allow cut ends to callous before planting.
