Dischidia ruscifolia ‘Variegata’ - Million Hearts
Dischidia ruscifolia ‘Variegata’, commonly known as Million Hearts, is a charming trailing houseplant loved for its masses of tiny heart-shaped leaves edged in creamy white variegation. The delicate foliage grows densely along slender cascading stems, creating a soft waterfall effect perfect for shelves, hanging pots and plant displays.
This epiphytic tropical species has a light, elegant appearance and works beautifully in bright indoor spaces where its trailing habit can be fully appreciated. In ideal conditions, mature plants may also produce small white flowers with a subtle sweet fragrance.

Dischidia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning sun is beneficial, but avoid strong afternoon sunlight which may scorch the variegated foliage.
Water: Allow the top layer of compost to dry slightly between waterings. Water lightly but regularly during active growth and reduce watering in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Grow in a very free-draining epiphytic mix with orchid bark, perlite and houseplant compost. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity and warm conditions. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens or grouped tropical displays.
Pruning and propagation: Trim stems to maintain fullness and shape. Easy to propagate from stem cuttings placed in moist moss or water.
