Acer palmatum 'Crimson Princess'
Acer 'Crimson Princess' is an attractive deciduous Japanese maple with a broad, spreading habit and finely divided foliage. The leaves emerge in rich crimson-red shades in spring, retaining strong colour through much of the growing season.
As autumn approaches, the foliage develops brighter scarlet and orange-red tones, creating a striking seasonal display. Its low, wide-growing form makes 'Crimson Princess' particularly effective as a specimen plant in borders, Japanese-style gardens and sheltered courtyards.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Crimson Princess' performs best in a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and moist but well-drained soil. Protection from strong winds and prolonged dry conditions will help keep the delicate foliage looking its best.
