Weigela PRISM 'Magic Carpet'
Weigela 'Magic Carpet' is a compact deciduous shrub with attractive colour-changing foliage that provides interest throughout the growing season. The leaves emerge bright chartreuse green in spring before gradually developing warm shades of orange and apricot as the season progresses.
From May to July, masses of trumpet-shaped lilac-pink flowers appear against the colourful foliage, creating a vibrant display and providing a valuable source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects.
With its naturally dense, mound-forming habit, 'Magic Carpet' is ideal for the front of borders, smaller gardens and patio containers. Easy to grow and low maintenance, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. The foliage is deciduous, falling in winter before fresh new growth emerges in spring.
