Vinca major 'Maculata'
Greater Periwinkle 'Maculata' is an attractive evergreen perennial grown for its glossy green foliage marked with irregular golden-yellow variegation. Its colourful leaves provide reliable year-round interest and are particularly effective for brightening shaded areas.
The trailing stems make 'Maculata' especially useful in pots, containers and raised displays, where they can cascade naturally over the edges. Violet-blue flowers may also appear from spring into summer, adding seasonal colour against the variegated foliage.
Hardy and easy to grow, this vigorous variety performs well in sun or shade and adapts to a wide range of soils. It can also be used as spreading groundcover in borders, on banks or beneath shrubs where dependable evergreen coverage is required.
