Viburnum tinus - 50cm Stem Standard
Viburnum tinus is trained here as a standard with a 50cm clear stem beneath a neat, rounded evergreen crown. Its glossy dark green leaves provide year-round colour and texture, while the elevated head creates an attractive architectural feature for patios, entrances and formal planting schemes.
Clusters of pink-tinged buds open into creamy-white flowers from late winter through spring, bringing welcome colour during the quieter months. Decorative metallic blue-black berries may follow flowering, extending the seasonal display and contrasting beautifully with the dark foliage.
Ideal for large patio containers and mixed borders, this standard grows well in sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Choose a position sheltered from cold, drying winds and water pots regularly. Light trimming after flowering keeps the crown at a manageable size; remove any unwanted shoots from the clear stem or base.
