Tsuga canadensis 12L

Tsuga canadensis

Tsuga canadensis is a large evergreen conifer forming a broad, elegant conical shape as it matures. Its graceful branches carry dense sprays of dark green needles, each with distinctive pale white bands on the undersides, creating a soft and finely textured appearance.

The flattened sprays of foliage are held on attractive dark purplish-brown stems, adding subtle contrast throughout the year. Small brown cones develop in autumn, providing further seasonal interest among the evergreen foliage.

With an annual growth rate of around 30-40cm, Tsuga canadensis develops into an impressive specimen tree and is best suited to larger gardens, woodland-style planting and areas where its natural shape can be fully appreciated.
