Tillandsia ionantha Green is a compact and charming air plant with soft, green leaves that form a tight rosette. When in bloom, the central leaves blush shades of pink or red, and small violet flowers emerge, adding a delightful burst of colour. Its tidy form and bright tones make it one of the most popular and reliable Tillandsia varieties.

Tillandsia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or gentle filtered sunlight. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which can dehydrate the leaves.
Water: Mist thoroughly 2–3 times a week, ensuring water runs into the leaf base. Alternatively, submerge in room-temperature water for 20–30 minutes weekly, then shake off excess. Allow to dry fully before returning to display.
Soil/Nutrition: No soil needed. Feed monthly with a diluted bromeliad or air plant fertiliser added to your misting water.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity and good airflow. Excellent for bathrooms or kitchens with natural light.
Pruning and propagation: Remove any dried outer leaves to maintain a tidy rosette. Propagate from offsets (“pups”) once half the size of the parent plant.
