Tillandsia andreana is a striking air plant with fine, needle-like green leaves forming a soft, rounded tuft. When in bloom, it produces vivid scarlet flower spikes tipped with purple, creating a bold contrast against the delicate foliage. Compact and elegant, it’s perfect for terrariums, mounted arrangements, or decorative holders where its bright colours can truly shine.
Native to the mountainous regions of Colombia and Venezuela, Tillandsia andreana grows naturally on trees and rocks, enjoying bright light and good airflow. Its soft, grass-like texture and vibrant blooms make it one of the most eye-catching and rewarding air plants to grow indoors.

Tillandsia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Avoid harsh, direct midday rays.
Water: Mist thoroughly 2–3 times a week, or soak in water for 20 minutes once a week, allowing it to dry fully afterwards.
Soil/Nutrition: No soil required. Feed monthly with a diluted bromeliad or air plant fertiliser.
Humidity: Enjoys higher humidity but must dry quickly after watering to prevent rot.
Pruning & Propagation: Remove any dead leaves at the base. Produces offsets (pups) after flowering, which can be separated when mature.
