Strobilanthes dyerianus is a spectacular foliage houseplant admired for its shimmering metallic purple leaves highlighted with deep green veins and a silvery iridescent sheen. Commonly known as Persian Shield, its vibrant colouring creates an instant focal point, bringing bold tropical character to any indoor plant collection.

Strobilanthes Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while low light may reduce their vibrant colouring
Water: Keep the compost evenly moist but not waterlogged. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining, nutrient-rich houseplant compost. Feed monthly during spring and summer
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity and benefits from being grouped with other plants
Pruning and propagation: Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth. Propagate easily from stem cuttings
