Fragaria × ananassa 'Mara des Bois'
Strawberry 'Mara des Bois' is widely regarded as one of the finest tasting strawberries available, celebrated for its exceptional sweetness and intense, aromatic flavour reminiscent of wild strawberries. The berries are attractively shaped and richly flavoured, making them a true gourmet choice for home growers.
This everbearing variety produces fruit over a long season, typically from July to November depending on planting time and conditions. It can be planted from late July to mid-August, or in March, April and May. As with all continuous fruiting types, the later you plant, the lighter the first harvest is likely to be.
For best results, remove the first flush of flowers after planting to allow young plants to develop strong leafy growth. This helps support healthy plants capable of producing high-quality fruit consistently throughout the season.
