Fragaria × ananassa 'Anaïs'
Strawberry 'Anaïs' is a delicious variety producing beautifully aromatic, sweet fruits with a very thin, delicate skin. The flavour is rich and well-balanced, making it a superb choice for fresh eating straight from the plant.
This variety rewards home growers with high-quality fruit and is best enjoyed freshly picked due to its tender skin. It can be planted from late July to mid-August, or in March, April and May. Fruiting typically runs from July to November, depending on conditions and planting time - though the later you plant, the lighter the first harvest is likely to be.
As a continuous fruiting type, it benefits from having the first flush of flowers removed after planting. This allows the young plant to build strong leafy growth before putting energy into producing fruit over its long cropping season.
