Stephania suberosa
Stephania suberosa is an unusual caudiciform climbing plant prized for its swollen woody base and delicate trailing vines adorned with rounded green leaves. The sculptural caudex stores water and nutrients, giving the plant a bonsai-like appearance that makes it especially popular among collectors of rare and architectural houseplants.
As growth develops, slender twining stems emerge from the caudex carrying soft green coin-shaped foliage that creates an elegant, airy display. Its combination of dramatic form and delicate growth habit makes it ideal for bright shelves, plant stands or minimalist interiors.

Water: Allow much of the compost to dry between waterings. Water sparingly during dormancy when the plant may naturally lose leaves.
Soil/Nutrition: Grow in a very free-draining cactus or succulent compost with added grit or perlite. Feed lightly during active growth in spring and summer.
Humidity: Enjoys warm temperatures and average household humidity. Ensure good airflow around the foliage.
Pruning and propagation: Trim vines to control shape or encourage branching. Propagation is usually from seed or division of the caudex.
