Skimmia x confusa 'Kew Green' (M) is a compact male evergreen shrub with aromatic green foliage and a naturally neat, rounded habit. Large green flower buds provide interest throughout winter before opening into dense clusters of fragrant creamy-white flowers in late winter and spring.
Although this male variety does not produce berries, its long-lasting flowers provide an impressive seasonal display and can pollinate compatible female Skimmias planted nearby. Its evergreen foliage and compact growth make it an excellent choice for shaded borders, woodland-style planting and containers.
Hardy, reliable and easy to grow, 'Kew Green' thrives in partial or deeper shade and moist but well-drained soil. It can also tolerate a sunnier position where the soil remains consistently moist, making it a versatile shrub for year-round structure and spring fragrance.
