Schismatoglottis motleyana is an elegant tropical foliage plant admired for its silvery-green leaves marked with darker green margins and midribs. The softly patterned, lance-shaped leaves grow in a neat rosette, creating a lush and exotic look reminiscent of miniature Alocasias.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to light shade. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch or fade the variegation.
Water: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top few centimetres feel slightly dry. Avoid allowing the plant to dry out completely.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a well-draining, moisture-retentive mix with bark, perlite, and coco coir. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: High humidity (60%+) promotes lush growth. Mist regularly or use a humidifier, especially in centrally heated rooms.
Pruning and propagation: Remove yellow or damaged leaves to maintain appearance. Propagate by division during repotting in spring.
