Salvia x jamensis 'Royal Bumble'
Blackcurrant Sage 'Royal Bumble' is a striking, upright perennial producing masses of rich red flowers over a long summer season. The bold blooms are carried on slender stems above aromatic green foliage, creating a vivid display from late spring into autumn.
Its long flowering period makes 'Royal Bumble' a valuable addition to cottage gardens, mixed borders and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, while the scented foliage adds further interest.
Easy to grow and drought tolerant once established, 'Royal Bumble' performs best in a warm, sunny position with well-drained soil. Deadheading helps encourage continued flowering, while some winter protection is advisable in colder or exposed gardens.
