Salvia guaranitica 'Black & Blue' is a spectacular perennial renowned for its vivid deep blue flowers carried on dramatic near-black stems. One of the most striking salvias available, it creates a bold display from mid-summer through to autumn, bringing colour, height and movement to sunny borders.
The rich blue blooms are beautifully contrasted by the dark velvety stems, creating an eye-catching combination that stands out amongst neighbouring plants. Its upright habit makes it ideal for the middle or back of borders, where it pairs particularly well with ornamental grasses and late-flowering perennials.
Highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators, this easy-to-grow variety also features aromatic foliage and excellent drought tolerance once established. The foliage dies back in autumn before re-emerging the following spring, providing reliable garden performance year after year.
