Rhododendron obtusum 'Izumi-no-mai'
Rhododendron obtusum 'Izumi-no-mai' is a compact, evergreen azalea prized for its vibrant spring display and neat, rounded habit. In late spring, it becomes covered in beautiful pinky-red, funnel-shaped flowers, each with a crisp white centre, creating a striking and cheerful show.
Forming a dense, low-growing mound of small, glossy green leaves, it is ideal for smaller gardens, front-of-border planting or patio containers. Best grown in acidic, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, this hardy variety provides reliable colour year after year with minimal maintenance.
