Rhipsalis ewaldiana is an elegant epiphytic cactus native to the rainforests of Brazil. This species belongs to the Rhipsalis genus, which is renowned for its delicate, cascading stems and ability to thrive in shaded, humid environments.
Key Characteristics:
- Growth Form: It features slender, trailing stems that branch delicately, making it perfect for hanging baskets or as an accent in elevated planters. The stems are green and may take on a reddish tint in brighter light
- Flowers: The blooms are small, white, and star-shaped, often appearing in late winter to early spring. These flowers can give way to tiny, berry-like fruits
- Habitat: Found in tropical forests, it thrives in humid environments, often growing on tree trunks or rocks
Care Tips:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some shade but should be protected from direct sunlight, which can cause stress
