Prunus lusitanica 'Brenelia'
Prunus lusitanica 'Brenelia', also known as 'Angustifolia', is an elegant evergreen with glossy foliage, rich red stems and a naturally upright habit. This compact and refined selection of Portuguese laurel is prized for its deep green leaves with a subtle wave, beautifully contrasted by striking reddish-purple stems.
In early summer, creamy-white, lightly fragrant flower spikes appear above the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. These are followed by small red fruits that mature to glossy black in autumn, providing additional seasonal interest for wildlife. Fast-growing and easy to maintain, it is ideal for dense, formal hedging or as a handsome specimen shrub.
