Prunus 'On Fire'® - is an outstanding evergreen shrub with intense dark red new shoots in spring - as striking as those of a Photinia. These richly coloured shoots remain on the plant throughout the growing season, providing a fiery contrast to the deep green mature foliage.
Discovered as a sport of Prunus laurocerasus 'Novita', On Fire inherits all of its parent’s robust qualities: vigorous growth, excellent winter hardiness, and strong resistance to shot hole disease and mildew. Its upright habit and year-round colour make it perfect for hedging, screening or bold structural planting.
