Prunus 'Fragrant Cloud'
Prunus 'Fragrant Cloud' is a beautiful deciduous flowering cherry prized for its large, highly fragrant, semi-double white flowers. Appearing in generous clusters during May, the blooms gradually develop a delicate pink flush as they age, creating an impressive late-spring display.
The foliage emerges with attractive bronze tones before maturing to mid-green through summer. In autumn, the leaves develop warm shades of orange and gold, providing another season of colour before they fall.
Vigorous and upright-spreading in habit, 'Fragrant Cloud', also known as 'Shizuka', makes an excellent specimen tree for lawns, larger borders and landscaped gardens. Grow in full sun in moist but well-drained soil for the best flowering and autumn colour.
