Prunus 'Accolade'
Prunus 'Accolade' is a graceful ornamental cherry renowned for its profuse spring blossom and elegant habit. From March to April, arching branches are smothered in semi-double, pale pink flowers that open from deep pink buds. The display is both abundant and long-lasting, providing an outstanding early-season spectacle. Its attractive blossom also draws in bees and other pollinators, making it a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.
Through summer, the tree carries mid-green foliage that creates a soft canopy of dappled shade. In autumn, the leaves turn brilliant shades of orange and red, extending its ornamental season well beyond flowering. With its spreading, arching form, ‘Accolade’ makes a superb specimen tree for lawns, avenues, or larger gardens where its beauty can be fully appreciated. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it is recognised for its reliability and exceptional performance.
