Primula vulgaris 'Pom Pom Early Neon Violet Improved'
Primula vulgaris 'Pom Pom Early Neon Violet Improved' is a double-flowered primrose from the early Pom Pom range producing bright violet-lilac double flowers with ruffled petals. The clear violet colouring pairs well with cream primroses and silver foliage.
The densely layered flowers sit above a rosette of textured green leaves. Plant in a patio pot, window box or mixed container, where the double blooms can be seen close up. The early range is selected for colour from January to April.
Grow in partial shade or a sunny position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water containers regularly without leaving the roots waterlogged, and remove faded blooms and damaged leaves. Flowering time varies with weather and growing conditions. After the seasonal display, plant into a suitable garden border.
