Pittosporum tenuifolium 'French Lace'
Pittosporum tenuifolium 'French Lace' is an elegant evergreen shrub with small, glossy grey-green leaves and distinctly wavy edges. Held on dark purple young stems, the finely textured foliage forms an upright, bushy outline that gradually becomes more rounded, providing useful structure and colour throughout the year.
In autumn and winter, the foliage takes on attractive plum-purple tones, adding seasonal colour to borders and evergreen planting schemes. Small clusters of dark purple, bell-shaped flowers appear from early summer, releasing a sweet honey-like fragrance among the leaves.
Ideal for mixed borders, hedging, screening and large patio containers, 'French Lace' grows best in full sun or partial shade with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Choose a sheltered position away from cold, drying winds, and trim lightly in spring or midsummer when shaping a hedge.
