Philodendron squamiferum x serpens is a rare hybrid combining the finest characteristics of both parent species. Large, heart-shaped green leaves are held on distinctive fuzzy pink-red stems, creating an exotic tropical appearance with plenty of texture and character. As the plant matures, the velvety stems become even more prominent, making it a true collector's specimen.
Ideal for bright indoor spaces with indirect light, this climbing Philodendron performs best when grown up a moss pole or support, allowing it to develop larger, more impressive foliage. Its unusual hairy stems and elegant leaves make it a stunning focal point for any tropical houseplant collection.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight which can scorch the foliage
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry. Keep compost lightly moist but never waterlogged
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining aroid potting mix rich in bark and perlite. Feed monthly during spring and summer
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity for the best growth and larger foliage
Pruning and propagation: Grow on a moss pole to encourage larger leaves. Remove damaged foliage as required and propagate from stem cuttings with at least one node
