Philodendron serpens
Philodendron serpens is a rare and highly sought-after climbing philodendron known for its velvety heart-shaped leaves and distinctive fuzzy petioles covered in soft reddish hairs. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes larger and more dramatic, giving it a lush, tropical appearance that appeals to collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Best grown as a climbing plant, it thrives when trained up a moss pole where its leaves can develop to their full potential. Ideal for bright indoor spaces with indirect light, it makes a striking statement in plant displays and pairs beautifully with other aroids in modern jungle-style interiors.
- Useful to know: Toxic if ingested - keep away from pets and children
- Feature: Great air purifying plant
- Eventual height: Climbing stems to 150-200cm
- Origins: South America
