Philadelphus coronarius 'Aureus'
Philadelphus coronarius 'Aureus' is a striking deciduous shrub valued for both its flowers and foliage. From June to July, it produces clusters of creamy-white blooms with a sweet citrus fragrance, filling the summer garden with scent and charm. The flowers are also an excellent source of nectar and pollen, attracting bees and other pollinators.
In spring, the foliage emerges golden yellow, creating a bright contrast in borders, before softening to chartreuse-green through summer and finally falling in autumn. Compact, hardy, and easy to grow, ‘Aureus’ is a superb choice for mixed borders, cottage gardens, or as a feature shrub. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it combines beauty with reliable performance.
