Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Blackfield' is a striking herbaceous perennial valued for its rich deep red bottlebrush flower spikes that sway gracefully above the foliage from mid-summer well into autumn. Its long flowering season provides reliable colour when many other perennials are beginning to fade.
Held on strong, wiry stems, the elegant flower spikes rise above dense clumps of attractive near heart-shaped foliage in a rich dark green. The vibrant blooms create excellent contrast in mixed borders and naturalistic planting schemes, adding movement and texture throughout the season.
