Opuntia consulea
Opuntia consulea is an unusual, tree-forming prickly pear cactus with flattened, paddle-like green stems. Unlike many prickly pears, it has very few spines, giving it a cleaner, architectural appearance. Over time, it develops a woody trunk, resembling a small cactus tree.
This striking cactus is ideal for bright conservatories, sunny windowsills, or modern indoor spaces where its upright habit adds structure and character. In the right conditions, mature plants may produce yellow flowers followed by small, ornamental fruits. Its easy-care nature makes it a great choice for cactus collectors and beginners alike.
