Mammillaria polythele ‘Hidalgensis’ is a striking column-forming cactus with rich green stems covered in neat spirals of pronounced tubercles and fine white spines. As it matures, it develops an elegant upright habit, making it a distinctive specimen for cactus enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Perfect for bright windowsills, conservatories, or sunny shelves, this compact cactus adds sculptural interest to any indoor space. With good care, mature plants may reward you with attractive pink to magenta flowers forming a ring around the crown during the growing season.

Light: Place in a bright position with several hours of direct sunlight each day
Water: Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly during the growing season and very little in winter
Soil/Nutrition: Grow in a free-draining cactus or succulent compost. Feed monthly with a cactus fertiliser during spring and summer
Humidity: Prefers dry air and good ventilation. Avoid damp, humid conditions
Pruning and propagation: No pruning is required. Mature plants can be propagated from seed or offsets if produced
