Malus x purpurea 'Crimson Cascade'

Malus x purpurea 'Crimson Cascade'

Malus x purpurea 'Crimson Cascade' is a striking weeping crab apple with a graceful, pendulous habit and richly coloured seasonal interest. In spring, its arching branches are covered in deep crimson to ruby-red blossom, creating a dramatic display.

The flowers are followed by dark green foliage, often flushed with attractive bronze tones, providing a handsome backdrop through summer. In autumn, small glossy red crab apples develop, adding further colour and often persisting well into winter.

Compact and elegant, 'Crimson Cascade' makes an excellent focal point for smaller gardens, lawns and mixed borders. The fruits are also valuable to garden birds, giving this ornamental tree additional wildlife appeal.
