Leucothoe axillaris 'Curly Gold'
Leucothoe axillaris 'Curly Gold' is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its unusual curled foliage and constantly changing seasonal colour. The glossy, twisted leaves create a highly textured appearance and provide year-round interest in borders and containers.
New growth emerges in warm orange-red shades before developing rich golden-yellow tones. As the seasons progress, the foliage takes on fresh lime-green colouring, creating an attractive mix of shades across the plant.
Easy to grow and naturally compact, 'Curly Gold' is ideal for mixed borders, woodland-style planting, patio containers and low informal hedging. It performs best in moist but well-drained, acidic soil in partial shade or gentle sun.
