Lavandula × intermedia 'Sensational!'
Lavandula × intermedia 'Sensational!' is a compact evergreen lavender with broad, bright silver leaves and dense, well-branched growth. Exceptionally large, intensely fragrant purple flower spikes reach up to 11cm long, held on sturdy upright stems that create a bold display above the foliage.
Flowering from summer into autumn, this variety produces further blooms to extend the season of colour. Its flowers attract bees and butterflies, making it ideal for sunny borders, low hedges, gravel gardens and containers. The strong flower stems are also excellent for fresh and dried arrangements.
Hardy and drought tolerant once established, 'Sensational!' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Its robust habit and good tolerance of leaf spotting and root disease support reliable garden performance. Remove faded flower spikes to encourage further blooms and lightly trim in spring, avoiding old woody growth.
