Kniphofia rufa 'Rasta'
Kniphofia rufa 'Rasta' is a graceful red hot poker producing slender, arching flower spikes composed of fine tubular blooms that open greenish-yellow from striking orange-red buds. Flowering from midsummer, the elegant flower heads rise above clumps of narrow, grass-like foliage, adding height, colour and movement to sunny borders.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is well suited to mixed borders, prairie-style planting and containers. Its nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, while its tolerance of coastal conditions makes it a versatile garden plant.
