Hamamelis x intermedia 'Pallida'
Hamamelis x intermedia 'Pallida' is a striking deciduous shrub valued for its fragrant winter flowers and excellent seasonal colour. From January to March, clusters of crimped, sulphur-yellow flowers appear along the bare branches, creating a vivid display during the coldest months of the year.
The lightly scented flowers stand out beautifully against the dark stems and provide valuable early-season interest before the foliage emerges. Broad green leaves develop through spring and summer before turning glowing shades of orange and red in autumn.
With its spreading habit and strong winter presence, 'Pallida' is ideal for winter gardens, mixed borders and specimen planting. It performs best in acidic, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade, where its flowers, fragrance and autumn colour can be fully appreciated.
