Forsythia × intermedia 'Lynwood Variety' is a vigorous deciduous shrub renowned for its spectacular display of bright yellow flowers in early spring. The large blooms smother the bare branches before the leaves emerge, bringing a welcome burst of colour to the garden at the start of the season.
After flowering, fresh green foliage develops and provides an attractive leafy backdrop throughout summer before falling in autumn. The flowering stems can also be cut and brought indoors for early-season flower arrangements.
Easy to grow and reliable, 'Lynwood Variety' is ideal for mixed borders, informal hedging or as a free-standing shrub. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil, with the best flowering generally achieved in a sunny position.
