Dionaea Care
Light: Position in very bright light or full sun for strong, healthy growth and good trap colour
Water: Keep the compost consistently moist during active growth by standing the pot in a shallow tray of rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water
Water quality: Avoid tap water where possible, particularly in hard-water areas, as dissolved minerals can damage the roots
Compost: Grow in specialist nutrient-poor carnivorous plant compost and never use ordinary multipurpose compost
Feeding: Do not use conventional fertiliser; the traps naturally obtain nutrients from insects
Traps: Avoid repeatedly touching or triggering the traps unnecessarily, as each trap can only close a limited number of times
Winter care: Dionaea naturally enters dormancy in winter, when growth slows and some leaves may die back; keep cooler and reduce standing water while keeping the compost moist

Dionaea Plant Care
Watering
Rainwater is the most natural thing the Dionaea can get, but not essential. Tap water can also be fine. Make sure the plant doesn’t dry out. Keeping a dish filled with water under the plant is the easiest way to do this.
Location
Place in a bright position. Direct sunlight is great for this plant.
The Dionaea can be placed either indoors or outdoors. The plant can withstand mild winters with frosts of no more than 5°C.
Fertilizer
Do not fertilize the Dionaea.
