Cotoneaster horizontalis
Cotoneaster horizontalis is a low-growing deciduous shrub with a distinctive herringbone branching pattern, creating a dense, spreading carpet of glossy green foliage. In spring, the branches are smothered in masses of small pink-tinged white flowers that are highly attractive to bees and pollinators.
As the year progresses, the foliage turns fiery shades of red and orange in autumn, while bright red berries appear in abundance, providing food for garden birds well into winter. Hardy, low-maintenance, and highly versatile, it is ideal for groundcover, banks, walls, and rockeries, where it delivers long-lasting seasonal interest and valuable wildlife benefits.
