Cotinus coggygria 'Golden Lady'
Cotinus coggygria 'Golden Lady' is a compact deciduous shrub valued for its bright golden foliage and soft, smoky flower plumes. New growth emerges in warm orange tones during spring before developing into glowing golden-yellow leaves that retain their colour well through summer.
In summer, airy cream-coloured flower panicles appear on second-year wood, creating the characteristic hazy, smoke-like effect for which Cotinus is known. The flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies, while the luminous foliage brings warmth and contrast to mixed planting schemes.
With its compact, well-branched habit, 'Golden Lady' is especially suitable for smaller gardens, mixed borders and specimen planting. Easy to grow in a sunny position with well-drained soil, it makes an excellent choice for adding long-lasting foliage colour and light structure to the garden.
