Clivia miniata, also known as the Bush Lily, is a stunning indoor flowering plant prized for its vibrant clusters of trumpet-shaped orange blooms held above broad, arching, dark green leaves. Clivia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sun which may scorch the leaves. Tolerates light shade.
Water: Water thoroughly, allowing excess to drain. Let the top few centimetres of soil dry between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter to encourage blooming.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a peat-free, well-draining potting mix. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced fertiliser, but stop feeding in winter.
Humidity: Average household humidity is fine. Keep away from radiators and draughts.
Pruning and propagation: Remove spent flowers and old leaves at the base. Propagate by dividing offsets when repotting in spring.
Experience level: Beginner to moderate.
