Cleistocactus winteri colademononis
Cleistocactus winteri subsp. colademononis is a spectacular trailing cactus with long, pendant stems densely covered in soft, white hairs. Often called the Monkey’s Tail Cactus, it produces vibrant orange-red tubular flowers in summer, creating a dramatic contrast against its shaggy stems. Perfect for hanging baskets or raised containers, where its unusual form can cascade freely.
This cactus is fast-growing under the right conditions and makes an eye-catching display in bright conservatories, sunrooms, or as a feature in a cactus collection. Its stems can grow several feet long, making it a true statement plant for lovers of the unusual.

Cactus Care Sheet
Light: Requires bright, direct light for several hours daily. Best near a south or west-facing window.
Water: Water sparingly, allowing soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce significantly in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a gritty, free-draining cactus compost. Feed monthly during spring and summer with diluted cactus fertiliser.
Humidity: Thrives in dry air – avoid high humidity and misting.
Pruning & Propagation: Trim stems if needed. Propagates easily from stem cuttings once calloused.
