Cistus × purpureus 'Alan Fradd' is a compact, dwarf evergreen shrub valued for its toughness and long-lasting summer interest. In early to mid-summer, it produces masses of large white flowers, each boldly blotched with deep maroon, creating a striking contrast against the grey-green foliage.
Low maintenance and highly drought tolerant once established, this rock rose thrives in full sun and sheltered, well-drained borders. Its resilience makes it particularly well suited to gravel gardens, Mediterranean-style planting and exposed coastal locations.
